Warhammer Online presents a very expansive world that requires many special needs of those that participate in it. Often, many characters are reliant of one another. In some cases, the same character can perform two or more different roles depending upon his/her skill level. And, of course, it is common to see characters performing roles that compliment other characters needs. Such is the case with those characters that are skilled in cultivation. And it is no understatement to say characters with cultivation skills are critically important to the game. It is these characters that grow the plants and fungi needed to create apothecary potions. And, as anyone that has played the game knows, apothecary portions are absolutely paramount in order to survive in difficult moments in the game.

While being a cultivator is not always the most exciting role to play (That is why many characters combine this role with other skills to create a multifaceted character), it is a very important role to play. Once again, the other characters are reliant upon the cultivator’s skill in order for their own game to succeed. This opens many doors for the individual with the skill of a cultivator. Actually, if the person playing the role of a cultivator wishes to make the role more interesting, he/she can play it with a decidedly harder edge. In other words, just because other players have need of your cultivation skills does not mean you need to be selfless and present an air of altruism with them. Seriously, this skill can make a character in great demand.

So, when can a character’s cultivation skills grow in demand? Does someone need their intelligence boosted? Do they need to develop more powerful ballistics to defeat an adversary? Has a character suffered a serious injury and needs healing? If so, they will need the services of an apothecary but such a player is of no use without someone to provide cultivation skills. Considering that most players in need of cultivation services are wanting, the door is open for the cultivator to achieve his goals and needs through bargaining with those in need. Really, if the cultivator always gave people what they wanted just because they asked the game would be somewhat dull would it not?

Now, does this mean the cultivator is mean-spirited or a villain? Well, in some cases, that might very well be true. However, the real answer will lie in the motivations of the cultivator. Of course, it is the player himself that devises his own motivations. So, the door is open for you to do whatever it is you want with the character. That can make for very engaging play.

It has been said the collapse of the Karak Ankor kingdom completely changed the role of the dwarf in Warhammer society. Unlike other fantasy games, dwarves in Warhammer play a more proactive and forceful role. They are not mere supporting characters and they do not exist for comedic relief. However, the characters remain somewhat conflicted due to their individual history in the game. In particular, the essence of dwarf society was forged in the Karak Ankor, but with the collapse of that society the once proud dwarves now must be subjected to integrating themselves in the societies that have emerged in its wake. This has led to an interesting dynamic as far as the crafting of the dwarf character roles go.

Dwarves are known for their tenacity and tough exterior. They are also intelligent beings and possess solid military skills. But, probably the one thing that truly sets them apart from other characters is their trade skills. Dwarves are known for their talents with mining, metallurgy, and engineering. This expands their role in the game into realms other characters may not be versatile enough to enter.

To say there is a unique perspective to be gained from the fall from grace dwarves have experienced would be a significant understatement. Without a doubt, one of the most painful psychological perspectives one could experience is to remember how great life used to be. In essence, this is the outlook many dwarves have on life since their history in the realm of Warhammer Online is that of a once great group that saw its empire and culture decline. This is not to infer being a dwarf infers weakness. In reality, the opposite is true since many dwarves essay the role of powerful fighters in an army. But, the glory days of dwarf society have come and gone making the role dwarves play in Warhammer one that possesses a different interactive approach with other characters.

There is the true fun with playing a dwarf character. Playing a dwarf in Warhammer is not like playing a dwarf in other games. In Warhammer, the ability to assume the role of a Dwarf opens the door to many opportunities for unique and interesting game play. After all, a game is only as interesting as the characters whose shoes you step into and playing the role of a dwarf can bring with it a great deal of unique fun. And, of course, there is also the fact that dwarves can assume the role of a hero or a villain which also adds to the complexity of these brilliant characters. And that, of course, adds to the great fun it is to play these characters.
